Another wonderful surprise as we progress with our closet project. Who needs wire caps, insulation or electrical tape? Not our house’s previous owner… He just splices in to existing wires and crams them back in the box to add a new outlet.
Who needs insulation?
This isn’t even close to the worst we’ve come across. We found out the hard way a while back that he wired in the lights in the bathroom, and an outlet in our bedroom via a spliced orange extension cord wired into an outlet in another room. After seeing the blackened hump of wires, I’m amazed it didn’t burn down the house.
Done Right…
So I spent a little time on it… did a little forensics to figure out which wires went to what, and did it right this time. I even got the outlet connected separate from the switch.
